Josh Prest

Josh Prest YWCA’s November Brand Ambassador! He is the Founder and Principal of Prest Public Strategies, a full-service government relations firm based out of Cleveland and Youngstown, OH. He started the firm in January 2023 after spending eight years with former United States Senator Rob Portman as part of his state team in Ohio. He served as District Representative, covering Northeast Ohio for seven years and then as District Director for Northeast Ohio, running the Cleveland office for one year before Senator Portman retired in January 2023.

In his various roles with Senator Portman, he was responsible for 20 counties across Northeast Ohio which included the cities of Cleveland, Youngstown, Akron, Canton and Mansfield. He attended meetings on behalf of Senator Portman for various legislative and constituent matters as well as served as an aide to Senator Portman during his time in Ohio meeting with constituents.

Josh started his career as a Regional Representative in the Ohio Treasurer’s office in 2013 before moving onto Senator Portman’s office in 2015. He is a native of Youngstown, Ohio where he remains engaged with alumni programs at his alma mater, Youngstown State University, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. He is a longtime member and Past President of the Rotary Club of Youngstown and serves on the board of directors at OH WOW! The Roger and Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science and Technology. He currently resides in Ohio City in Cleveland, Ohio.
